Checklist of things you should take on Hajj and Umrah journey

To make your Hajj and Umrah journey comfortable its always advisable to check your things-to-do list before travelling to Mecca.

List of Items To Carry For Hajj Pilgrimage

  1. Carry the Hajj Guide which you can easily understand.
  2. Don’t compromise with sandal or slippers as you have to travel a lot on your feet. Take a spare also.
  3. A small pouch to be hung around the neck for keeping books, Traveler’s cheques, passport, health certificate, ticket, etc.
  4. You have to walk too much so kindly carry some energy drinks or buy from Makkah.
  5. Selection of food will impact your worships, so kindly take food which is less in amount and have a maximum quantity of calories.
  6. Take Ihram in spare.
  7. Pocket belt made up of Nylon or leather to be tied around Ihram.
  8. Prayer mat (Jae Namaz).
  9. Clothes as per requirement (according to the weather conditions).
  10. A shawl or blanket for covering the body.
  11.  Pillow.
  12. Mat or cloth to be laid on the ground.
  13. It is Sunnah to carry these things while travelling i.e mirror, oil, comb, Miswak, sewing needle, thread and scissors.
  14. Nail cutter.
  15. Towel.
  16. Pair of Sunglasses (if you use).
  17. Dining mat.
  18. A water bottle that can be hung around the neck.
  19. Some medicines for headache, cold etc. Moreover, take the medicines you need with a prescription.
  20. Water sprayer to spray water over the face and the body when it is hot (as it is extremely hot in Mina and ‘Arafat).
  21. Necessary cooking & dining utensils.

 

Necessary for luggage Packing:

  1. A strong handbag for stuff that is used frequently.
  2. A large bag for luggage (Write your name, contact number and other essential details with a tip marker and also mark it with a symbol such as “_”. Tie a colored piece which is clearly visible from some distance.
  3. Lock the bag but keep its key in the pocket of Ihram’s belt and also in the handbag. If the keys are lost, then the bags are usually opened with large scissors at Jeddah customs, which will put you in a lot of trouble.
  4. Keep the tag of your name, address and contact number in the handbag as well.
  5. It will be comfortable for you to use wheel-attached bags.
  6. A marker pen for writing the name and address on luggage.
