•  You must be stable enough to perform hajj, physically, financially and mentally. If these elements are missing you will lack with your worship.
•  Pilgrims must learn the rules and methods to perform Hajj and Umrah instead of copy other’s action along with Sa’ai and Tawaf supplications.
•  Pilgrims are not allowed by authorities to carry with them fruits, cooked food, sweet-meats etc so be sure that carry some half cooked food with proper steal cane packing

1. Masjid ul Haraam (The Grand Mosque) أَلمَسْجِد أَلحَرَام

Opposite to Hajra e Aswad there is the MAQAM E IBRAHIM (Station of ABRAHAM) where hazrat Ibrahim (A.S) stood the during the construction of Ka’aba. Muslims are commanded by ALLAH to offer two rakats of Salat (namaz) behind MAQAM E IBRAHIM.

4. Safah and Marwah ( المروة‎,الصّفا )

Safa and Marwa are other blessed places where pilgrims have to complete seven rounds between these two hills in the memory of Hazrat Ismail (عليه السلام) and His mother Bibi Hajra.

5. The Birthplace of our Holy Prophet 

The Birthplace of our Holy Prophet is situated outside the Bab e Marwah (Marwah gate). Nowadays this place is converted into a library under Saudi government supervision. Visitors come here and recite Darood Sharif on beloved Prophet (P.B.U.H).

6. Jabl e Abu Qabees ( جبل أبو قبيس )

Near to the Birthplace of our Holy Prophet, there is a mountain known as Jabl e Abu Qabees where Prophet Muhammad (P.B.U.H) split the moon into two parts.

7. Jannat al-Mu’alla ( جنة المعلاة / مقبرة المعلاة )

Jannat ul Mu’alla also known as ” Al-Hajun” is the most famous cemetery after Janna tul Baqi, Jannat ul Mualla is situated very near to Masjid ul Haraam in Mecca where many Family members and Companion (Sahaba) of Prophet Muhammad( صلى الله عليه وسلم ) are buried including Hazrat Khadija (Prophet’s first wife), Hazrat Qasim (Prophet’s eldest son) Hazrat Abdullah (Prophet’s younger son) along with Asma Bint AbuBaker, Hazrat Abdullah Bin Zubair. his ancient cemetery was respected even before the birth of Mohamed (PBUH), and remains so to this day.

8. Jabl e Noor (جبل النور)

Another Holy mountain in Mecca is Jabl e Noor where Prophet Muhammad use to talk (P.B.U.H) to Allah through Waheeh ( وحي ). People climb to that cave known as Ghar e Hira ( غَـار حِـرَاء) for supplications.

9. Mina

From some distance to Masjid e Haram there is the ground Known as Mina which is the primary destination of pilgrims to start Hajj. Mina is also known as The City of Camps where three pillars represent the temptations of Satan and Hajis stone pebels to them in memory of Hazrat Ibrahim (A.S).

10. Arafat (عَرَفَات)

After Mina there is ground Known as Maidan e Arafat where all the pilgrims gather to listen to the Hajj Sermon.

11. Muzdalifa  (مُزْدَلِفَة)

At the end of Arafat, pilgrims visit Muzdalifa; it is four kilometers long and covers an area of 12.25 square kilometers where pilgrims spend a night and worship to ALLAH and collect the pebbles to stoning the Satan.

You can say that Ihram is the uniform or prerequisite for Hajj and Umrah which must be worn by pilgrims in a prescribed manner as described by Prophet Muhammad (P.B.U.H) instead of normal clothes. Ihram consists of two pieces of unsewn clothes, one for upper body and one for lower body (for men).  The Ihram for both Hajj and Umrah is the same but different for men and women.

Method of Putting Ihram and Its Prerequisite:

The method of wearing Ihram for Hajj and Umrah is the same but differs in the intention of wearing.

• Trim your nails if needed because this act is Haram (not allowed in Ihram).
• Take a bath (according to Faraiz).
• Perform Ablution.
• Use Miswak.
• Apply fragrance as after wearing Ihram you are restricted to use perfume
• Now Take Ihram (Two pieces of unsewn clothes), one for upper body which is used as a shawl and second for lower body which will be worn like “tahbands”.
  Take Ihram of towel clothing as it will be easy in movement rather than any other fabric. It is advisable to take a big shawl for Ihram, this will help you to cover the body properly.
• Remove all the sewn clothes even cap hand gloves, socks etc.
• You may also take a belt with a zipper wallet for Ihram to keep your passports and money with you. The nylon belt is durable and reliable.

Al-Khair recommends the people who wants to perform Hajj this year , to get ready with their documents along with the application fee, as government scheme is “first come first get” in its limited quota. The basic requirement for Hajj  policy 2017 is that passport must be valid till 10^th  March, 2017 who want to submit Hajj Applications.

 Hajj Policy 2017:

Hajj policy 2016 has been announced by “Sardar Muhammad Yousuf“at a news conference in Islamabad. the major points of which are as follows.

(1).Hajj applications to be received from Monday i.e. 18th April  to 26th April  2016 at selected branches of eight banks.

(2).All facilities would be provided to Pilgrims including accommodation & meal in Harmain Sharifain and refreshment at airport.

(3). Hujjaj performed Hajj during the last five years are not eligible, however Hajj e Badal is allowed.

(4).Balloting for the Hujjaj will be held on 29th April.

(5). 86021 out of 143000 (appr.) Pakistanis to perform Hajj in Govt scheme.while 57000 will go through private scheme i.e.  private Hajj packages 2017.

Documents To Be Attached With Application A/c Hajj Policy 2017:-

• Computerized CNIC (National ID Card)
• passport which should be valid up to March 31, 2017, or receipt of passport application issued by the immigration and passport office.
• 12 passport size Photographs about 4×3 cm size in blue background.
• Women applicants under 45-Years of age will have to mention their Mahram’s name and their relation with him in the application form.
• Applicant must submit their health status in advance as it will be sent to Saudi government.

1. Mataf:

Mataf is the place where pilgrims order to complete their seven rounds around the Holy Kaaba. This area in Masjid ul Haraam is very blessed and supplication are accepted here.

2. Inside the Holy Kaaba:

The most blessed part of Haram is the inside of Holy Kaaba. People cannot approach to there because the gate of Holy Kaaba is open twice or thrice in a year only for cleaning by the King itself.

3. Multazim:

Multazim is the name of one of the four sides of Kaaba where people go for confessing of their sins in front of Allah and ask for forgiveness.

4. Mizab e Rehmat:

It is the just like a pipeline from the Roof of Kaaba from where the water of rain and washing dropout, Pilgrims face the Mizab e Rehmat and supplicates as narrated in Hajj or Umrah guide.

5. Hatwim (Hateem):

According to Prophet Muhammad (P.B.U.H) Hatwim is considered as the inner part of Kaaba, one who offers two rakaat Salah in hatwim (hateem) is like to offer Salah inside the Holy Kaaba. It is the place where supplication is accepted.

6. Rukn e Yamani:

Rukn e Yamani is the one side of Kaaba, the supplication accepted here especially when pilgrim passes through this wall during Tawaf.

7. Maqam e Ibrahim:

It is the order of Allah in the Holy Quran that Muslims offer the Salah behind the Maqam e Ibrahim, and it Sunnah to offer two Rakaat after the completion of Tawaf and ask for the Blessings of Allah.

8. Near Zam Zam well:

Nowadays it is totally impossible to supplicate near the zam zam well as the government closed the well for the general public. Pipelines are spread under the ground to supply the zam zam Water to all over the Haram.

9. Safa and Marwah:

Safa and Marwah are two small hills near to Kaaba now in Masjid ul Haram, these both hills are sacred hills because of the belonging to Hazrat Ismail (A.S) and His mother Bibi Hajra (R.A).

10. Arafat:

Arafat is the ground where every pilgrim must be present at 9^th of Zul Hujja in Hajj. In this ground, supplicates are accept especially the place where Prophet Muhammad (P.B.U.H) stayed.

11. Mina:

Mina is another Holy ground where people ask for forgiveness especially in Hajj days.

12. Muzdalifah:

Stay in Muzdalifah is the part of Hajj and it is a very important place for Dua during Hajj days.

13. Glance at Kaaba:

According to Imam Abu Hanifa immediate and first sight at Holy Kaaba is the time when supplicates are accepted.

14. Masjid un Nabawi :

Masjid un Nabawi, also known as the Mosque of Prophet where Prophet Muhammad (P.B.U.H) spent 10 years of His life and after the Death, His Shrine is also there.

15. Sacred Places in Masjid un Nabawi:

There are many important places in the Majid e Nabawi where dua is accepted like near the Mimbar e Rasool, Blessed Pillars, and Golden Grille.

16. Masjid e Quba:

It is the first mosque of Islam where the blessings of two rakaat is equal to the blessing of Umrah

17. Masjid e Fatah:

In this mosque Prophet Muhammad (P.B.U.H) supplicate himself during Ahzab war (Gazwa e Ahzab), it is advisable to go here for Dua between Zohar till Assar on Wednesday.

18. Mount Uhud:

The mountain Uhud will be entered in Heaven, according to Prophet (P.B.U.H). Pilgrims visit this mountain and praise the efforts of martyrs of Uhud war and supplicate for them and themselves.

This act of Bibi Hajra is accepted by Allah and all the Pilgrims from that time till the day of judgment are ordered to complete seven rounds between Safa and Marwa in the memory and sacrifice of Bibi Hajra in every Umrah. Even the portion where Bibi Hajra ran between Safa and Marwa, Pilgrims are ordered to run. These seven rounds between Safa and Marwa is called Sai. Who Can Perform Hajj list are given below:

1. Must Be A Muslim:

The first and foremost condition is that a person should be a Muslim. Non-Muslims are not allowed to go for Hajj as Allah says in the Holy Quran (summary of the meaning):

“And nothing prevents their contributions from being accepted from them except that they disbelieved in Allah and in His Messenger” [Al-Tawbah 9:54]

2. Insane Person:

Hajj is not for insane persons. Anyone who proved to be mentally ill is not eligible to perform Hajj as this law is in favor of insane people as The Prophet (P.B.U.H) said,

“There are three kinds of people who are not held responsible for their actions: The sleeping person until he wakes up, the child until he reaches the age of puberty, and the mentally ill until he becomes sane.” [Ad-Daarimi]

3. Free Person:

Slaves are not liable to perform Hajj. The person should be free.

4. Adult:

A person who attains the age of puberty is liable/ eligible to perform Hajj.

5. Ability:

Ability defines that a person is not in debt or has taken a loan especially for Hajj, and he arranges all the basic need of Hajj journey and arrangements for himself as a dependent person. As Allah says in the Holy Quran (summary of meaning):

“And Hajj (pilgrimage to Makkah) to the House (Ka‘bah) is a duty that mankind owes to Allah, those who can afford the expenses (for one’s conveyance, provision and residence)” [Aal ‘Imraan 3:97] 

6. Women’s Hajj:

Women will be eligible for Hajj only if she travels with Mahram (Her husband, father, son, brother, nephew uncle etc.) as The Prophet (P.B.U.H) said,

“A man cannot be alone with a woman unless when she is in the company of a Dhu Mahram. A woman can travel only when she is accompanied by a Dhu Mahram.”
