Following are the most important guidelines to perform Hajj.

Congratulations to you on your journey of Hajj to Mecca and Madinah.

Be sure that your documents for this journey are ready at least 3 to 4 days before departure. Take some guidance from an experienced person, this will be beneficial for you during traveling.

The pilgrim (Haji) must have an intention that I will perform Hajj solely for the attainment of the pleasure of Almighty Allah.

You must be stable enough to perform hajj, physically, financially and mentally. If these elements are missing you will lack with your worship.

Pilgrims must learn the rules and methods to perform Hajj and Umrah instead of copy other’s action along with Sa’ai and Tawaf supplications.

Pilgrims are not allowed by authorities to carry with them fruits, cooked food, sweet-meats etc so be sure that carry some half cooked food with proper steal cane packing

Make some walking habit on a daily basis, 15 days before going to Hajj as you have to walk 7 to 8 kilometers there form your accommodation to Masjid including Tawaf and Sa’ ai. (To walk 45 minutes a day is also very beneficial from the medical point of view.)

During 5 days of hajj Stick to a very strict diet, this will be beneficial for you, as there is a long queue outside the bathrooms in Mina and Arafat.

Women should take flat slippers instead of high heels slippers because you have to walk a lot.

While traveling you should not take any parcel or packet from strangers even to hold, sometimes this will put you on legal issues.

Never forget to take a prescription with your medicines as this will be strictly checked at the airport

Most importantly you must know the Namaz-e-Janaza (funeral prayer) and Qasr Namaz (The method of prayer in Journey-traveling).

The accurate meaning of word Ihram in the Arabic language is “Haram” (to restrain yourself). Because by the law of Allah the person who is wearing Ihram (called Muhrim) has to restrain himself from certain allowed and Halal activities of Islam like wearing sewn clothes (for men), apply olive oil in the hair, hunting in the forest, etc.

You can say that Ihram is the uniform or prerequisite for Hajj and Umrah which must be worn by pilgrims in a prescribed manner as described by Prophet Muhammad (P.B.U.H) instead of normal clothes. Ihram consists of two pieces of unsewn clothes, one for upper body and one for lower body (for men). The Ihram for both Hajj and Umrah is the same but different for men and women.

Method of Putting Ihram and Its Prerequisite:

The method of wearing Ihram for Hajj and Umrah is the same but differs in the intention of wearing.

Trim your nails if needed because this act is Haram (not allowed in Ihram).

Take a bath (according to Faraiz).

Perform Ablution.

Use Miswak.

Apply fragrance as after wearing Ihram you are restricted to use perfume

Now Take Ihram (Two pieces of unsewn clothes), one for upper body which is used as a shawl and second for lower body which will be worn like “tahbands”.
Take Ihram of towel clothing as it will be easy in movement rather than any other fabric. It is advisable to take a big shawl for Ihram, this will help you to cover the body properly.

Remove all the sewn clothes even cap hand gloves, socks etc.

You may also take a belt with a zipper wallet for Ihram to keep your passports and money with you. The nylon belt is durable and reliable.

Video Tutorial Of Wearing Ihram

Ihram for Women:

Women are not restricted to wear unsewn clothes. They wear their usual clothes with hand gloves and socks. The Ihram for women is to cover their head properly with scarf or else and not to cover their faces.

The whole Mecca is Holy and the Blessings of Allah showers everywhere in Mecca and Medina but there are some places where Dua, the supplication towards Allah specifically accepted. Mostly of these places are situated in Masjid ul Haraam. These places are here with the reference of famous book Ahsan-ul-Wi’a li Adab-id–Dua so that the pilgrims should make supplication with awareness, attention and great dedication.

Mataf:

Mataf is the place where pilgrims order to complete their seven rounds around the Holy Kaaba. This area in Masjid ul Haraam is very blessed and supplication are accepted here.

Inside the Holy Kaaba:

The most blessed part of Haram is the inside of Holy Kaaba. People cannot approach to there because the gate of Holy Kaaba is open twice or thrice in a year only for cleaning by the King itself.

Multazim:

Multazim is the name of one of the four sides of Kaaba where people go for confessing of their sins in front of Allah and ask for forgiveness.

Mizab e Rehmat:

It is the just like a pipeline from the Roof of Kaaba from where the water of rain and washing dropout, Pilgrims face the Mizab e Rehmat and supplicates as narrated in Hajj or Umrah guide.

Hatwim (Hateem):

According to Prophet Muhammad (P.B.U.H) Hatwim is considered as the inner part of Kaaba, one who offers two rakaat Salah in hatwim (hateem) is like to offer Salah inside the Holy Kaaba. It is the place where supplication is accepted.

Rukn e Yamani:

Rukn e Yamani is the one side of Kaaba, the supplication accepted here especially when pilgrim passes through this wall during Tawaf.

Maqam e Ibrahim:

It is the order of Allah in the Holy Quran that Muslims offer the Salah behind the Maqam e Ibrahim, and it Sunnah to offer two Rakaat after the completion of Tawaf and ask for the Blessings of Allah.

Near Zam Zam well:

Nowadays it is totally impossible to supplicate near the zam zam well as the government closed the well for the general public. Pipelines are spread under the ground to supply the zam zam Water to all over the Haram.

Safa and Marwah:

Safa and Marwah are two small hills near to Kaaba now in Masjid ul Haram, these both hills are sacred hills because of the belonging to Hazrat Ismail (A.S) and His mother Bibi Hajra (R.A).

Safa and Marwa are the two Holy Hills situated in Makkah. The memories of sacred Safa and Marwa Hills belongs to Bibi Hajra and Prophet Ismail (A.S). Prophet Ibrahim (A.S) was commanded by Allah to leave His wife Bibi Hajra and son Hazrat Ismail (A.S) in the desert of Arab (presently Mecca) near Safa and Marwa. Ibrahim (A.s) is the Prophet of Allah and He must fulfill the orders of His Lord. So He left His wife and child in the desert alone with a jug of water. When the jug of water ended infant Ismail (A.S) was crying for water than her mother complete seven rounds between the Safa and Marwa for the seeking of water and at the certain place from where She couldn’t able to see Her son, She ran fast.

An old picture of Safa Marwa Sa’i,

This act of Bibi Hajra is accepted by Allah and all the Pilgrims from that time till the day of judgment are ordered to complete seven rounds between Safa and Marwa in the memory and sacrifice of Bibi Hajra in every Umrah. Even the portion where Bibi Hajra ran between Safa and Marwa, Pilgrims are ordered to run. These seven rounds between Safa and Marwa is called Sai. This was the reason which make two ordinary Hills the sacred and Holy places of Muslims.

When Flood entered in the Haram e Kaaba and Sa’i Area,

Basically the order of Allah to Ibrahim (A.S) is the trier by Allah as Ibrahim was blessed with son at very old age and another reason behind this order that in future Ismail and Ibrahim (A.S) have to build the Holy Kaaba.
Let Al-Khair be your partner to witness these sacred places of Islam through which one can seek the blessing of Allah and the pay the tribute to the great sacrifice of Prophet Ibrahim, Ismail (A.S) and Bibi Hajra. Al-Khair provides best services and peace of mind to the guests of Allah so they concentrate on their Ibadaat, Umrah and other holy duties.

Masjid Al-Haraam in Makkah features two historical mountains/hills, Safa and Marwah … Actually, the service of performing Sa’ee pays tribute to the story of Hajar’s search for water for her child.

who ran between safa and marwa?

Why do we run between Safa and Marwa?

This represents Hagar’s search for water for her son Ismail. Muslims believe Ismail struck his foot on the ground, which led to a spring of water that emerged. Pilgrims then run between the hills of Safa and Marwah seven times.

Hajj is one of the basic pillar of Islam. A test of temperament, tolerance, patience and sacrifice, also will power of a pilgrims as they have to spend about a month away from home including 5 days in camps instead of hotels. So there are the some conditions enforced by Islam to perform a Hajj. Following conditions must be fulfilled to be eligible for performing Hajj 2019.

Who Can Perform Hajj list are given below:

Must Be A Muslim:

The first and foremost condition is that a person should be a Muslim. Non-Muslims are not allowed to go for Hajj as Allah says in the Holy Quran (summary of the meaning):

“And nothing prevents their contributions from being accepted from them except that they disbelieved in Allah and in His Messenger” [Al-Tawbah 9:54]

Insane Person:

Hajj is not for insane persons. Anyone who proved to be mentally ill is not eligible to perform Hajj as this law is in favor of insane people as The Prophet (P.B.U.H) said,

“There are three kinds of people who are not held responsible for their actions: The sleeping person until he wakes up, the child until he reaches the age of puberty, and the mentally ill until he becomes sane.” [Ad-Daarimi]

Free Person:

Slaves are not liable to perform Hajj. The person should be free.

Adult:

A person who attains the age of puberty is liable/ eligible to perform Hajj.

Ability:

Ability defines that a person is not in debt or has taken a loan especially for Hajj, and he arranges all the basic need of Hajj journey and arrangements for himself as a dependent person. As Allah says in the Holy Quran (summary of meaning):

“And Hajj (pilgrimage to Makkah) to the House (Ka‘bah) is a duty that mankind owes to Allah, those who can afford the expenses (for one’s conveyance, provision and residence)” [Aal ‘Imraan 3:97]

Women’s Hajj:

Women will be eligible for Hajj only if she travels with Mahram (Her husband, father, son, brother, nephew uncle etc.) as The Prophet (P.B.U.H) said,

“A man cannot be alone with a woman unless when she is in the company of a Dhu Mahram. A woman can travel only when she is accompanied by a Dhu Mahram.”

Let Al-Khair be the facilitator of your Holy Journey. Excellent arrangements of accommodation and transportation services of Al-Khair ensure that you are always focused on your religious obligations.
