Al-Khair recommends the people who wants to perform Hajj this year , to get ready with their documents along with the application fee, as government scheme is “first come first get” in its limited quota. The basic requirement for Hajj  policy 2017 is that passport must be valid till 10^th  March, 2017 who want to submit Hajj Applications.

 Hajj Policy 2017:

Hajj policy 2016 has been announced by “Sardar Muhammad Yousuf“at a news conference in Islamabad. the major points of which are as follows.

(1).Hajj applications to be received from Monday i.e. 18th April  to 26th April  2016 at selected branches of eight banks.

(2).All facilities would be provided to Pilgrims including accommodation & meal in Harmain Sharifain and refreshment at airport.

(3). Hujjaj performed Hajj during the last five years are not eligible, however Hajj e Badal is allowed.

(4).Balloting for the Hujjaj will be held on 29th April.

(5). 86021 out of 143000 (appr.) Pakistanis to perform Hajj in Govt scheme.while 57000 will go through private scheme i.e.  private Hajj packages 2017.

Documents To Be Attached With Application A/c Hajj Policy 2017:-

• Computerized CNIC (National ID Card)
• passport which should be valid up to March 31, 2017, or receipt of passport application issued by the immigration and passport office.
• 12 passport size Photographs about 4×3 cm size in blue background.
• Women applicants under 45-Years of age will have to mention their Mahram’s name and their relation with him in the application form.
• Applicant must submit their health status in advance as it will be sent to Saudi government.

The final stages of the project are now underway.
Around 15,000 laborers are working to expand the Mataf area to prepare it for around six million Umrah visitors expected this year.
The third expansion phase is expected to ensure the movement of at least 1.6 million Umrah visitors, while around 6,000 workers and technical advisers are expected to be employed in the expansion process.
This is in addition to the seasonal workers employed by the Presidency of the Two Holy Mosques. This project is the biggest in the history of the Grand Mosque expansion.
When the expansion began the number of columns on the ground floor decreased by 30 percent. This is to provide those performing tawaf comfort create more space.
The project includes the reconstruction of the old Haram area in the first expansion phase, and the expansion of the adjacent area by 50 meters instead of just 20 meters on the surface.

The first and foremost condition is that a person should be a Muslim. Non-Muslims are not allowed to go for Hajj as Allah says in the Holy Quran (summary of the meaning):

“And nothing prevents their contributions from being accepted from them except that they disbelieved in Allah and in His Messenger” [Al-Tawbah 9:54]

2. Insane Person:

Hajj is not for insane persons. Anyone who proved to be mentally ill is not eligible to perform Hajj as this law is in favor of insane people as The Prophet (P.B.U.H) said,

“There are three kinds of people who are not held responsible for their actions: The sleeping person until he wakes up, the child until he reaches the age of puberty, and the mentally ill until he becomes sane.” [Ad-Daarimi]

3. Free Person:

Slaves are not liable to perform Hajj. The person should be free.

4. Adult:

A person who attains the age of puberty is liable/ eligible to perform Hajj.

5. Ability:

Ability defines that a person is not in debt or has taken a loan especially for Hajj, and he arranges all the basic need of Hajj journey and arrangements for himself as a dependent person. As Allah says in the Holy Quran (summary of meaning):

“And Hajj (pilgrimage to Makkah) to the House (Ka‘bah) is a duty that mankind owes to Allah, those who can afford the expenses (for one’s conveyance, provision and residence)” [Aal ‘Imraan 3:97] 

6. Women’s Hajj:

Women will be eligible for Hajj only if she travels with Mahram (Her husband, father, son, brother, nephew uncle etc.) as The Prophet (P.B.U.H) said,

“A man cannot be alone with a woman unless when she is in the company of a Dhu Mahram. A woman can travel only when she is accompanied by a Dhu Mahram.”

Umrah is a lesser hajj and the holiest act. Types of Umrah:

There are two kinds of Umrah;

• Umrah-ul-Mafradha
• Umrah-ul-Tammatu

1. Umrah-ul-Mufradah:

This type of Umrah is independent of hajj. You can perform this Umrah any time during the year.

2.Umrah-ul-Tammatu:

The Umrah which is performed in conjunction with Hajj in the month of Zil-Hajj is known as Umrah-ul-Tammatu.

The congregation of all Muslims in Makkah for this holy act of Umrah portrays the unity among Muslims to the entire world. Muslims from different races, different nations and speaking different languages unite on a single platform to perform this same act of obedience and also get an opportunity to socialize with other Muslims. It strengthens the feeling of brotherhood, harmony, and goodwill among Muslims. It makes Muslims sympathetic and unbiased towards each other. Therefore, this delightful journey of Umrah purifies Muslims spiritually and it brings together the whole Ummah. As we all know the significance and value of Unity in Islam.

It is stated in Surah Al-Imran;

“And hold fast all together by the rope which Allah (stretches out for you) and be not divided among yourselves, and remember with gratitude Allah’s favor on you; for ye were enemies and He joined your hearts in love so that by His grace ye became brethren; and ye were on the brink of the pit of fire and He saved you from it. An old picture of Safa Marwa Sa’i,  

This act of Bibi Hajra is accepted by Allah and all the Pilgrims from that time till the day of judgment are ordered to complete seven rounds between Safa and Marwa in the memory and sacrifice of Bibi Hajra in every Umrah. Even the portion where Bibi Hajra ran between Safa and Marwa, Pilgrims are ordered to run. These seven rounds between Safa and Marwa is called Sai. This was the reason which make two ordinary Hills the sacred and Holy places of Muslims.

When Flood entered in the Haram e Kaaba and Sa’i Area, 

Basically the order of Allah to Ibrahim (A.S) is the trier by Allah as Ibrahim was blessed with son at very old age and another reason behind this order that in future Ismail and Ibrahim (A.S) have to build the Holy Kaaba. This sacrifice is base foundation of Khana e Kaaba and ZamZam water.

 Pilgrims are busy in Dua after completing their Sa’i at Mount Marwa.
